Find the correct WARDOGS player count chart, separate the Playtest from the main game, and read concurrent players, dated peaks and other audience statistics.
For the WARDOGS player count during the Beta, open the SteamDB chart for WARDOGS Playtest, App 4809930. The main game has a separate entry, App 1867240. Check the app name before reading a number. [playtest-chart] [main-game-chart]
At the September 6, 2026 check, SteamDB recorded a Playtest peak of 245,118 concurrent players on September 5. This is a dated SteamDB record; this page does not run a live counter. Open the source for the latest figure. [playtest-chart]
| Client | Steam app | Where to look |
|---|---|---|
| WARDOGS Playtest | 4809930 | Playtest charts |
| WARDOGS | 1867240 | Main-game entry |
These entries represent separate Steam applications. After Early Access begins, use the main-game entry for the released client and retain the Playtest entry when discussing Beta history. A low or missing number on one entry cannot describe activity in the other. [playtest-chart] [main-game-chart]
Valve defines its current-player measure as players active in the specified Steam app; it excludes people playing without a Steam connection. This is not a count of sales or everyone who has ever played. [valve-definition]
Likewise, a Twitch viewer count measures an audience watching broadcasts. Wishlists and followers describe other forms of interest. Neither should be relabeled as people playing. The main-game SteamDB page displays these other metrics, making its labels particularly important. [main-game-chart]
WARDOGS matches support up to 100 players across three teams. That is the limit for a match, not the size of the whole Steam audience. A large total also does not guarantee that a server in your region has the mode, space or connection quality you want. [developer-faq]
If a statistics page fails to load, treat the result as unavailable rather than zero. For whether a test is scheduled to be playable, check beta access; for hosting arrangements, see community servers.
