WARDOGS community servers are planned through two approved hosting companies at launch. In its August 29 announcement, BULKHEAD said those companies would have the systems needed to host servers for individuals. It also warned that some providers advertising preorders did not have the game or server code. [hosting-plan]

Renting a server and hosting it yourself

The announced route lets an individual rent through an approved company. BULKHEAD says it will not distribute the server code to anyone who wants to run a server independently. A hosting advert or a preorder button therefore does not establish that a provider is approved or can deliver a working server. [server-code] [hosting-plan]

Before paying, look for an official announcement that names the provider. The August thread explains the arrangement but does not identify the two companies or publish their hosting regions. It cannot be used to endorse a particular seller or establish that a nearby server location will be available. [hosting-plan]

The announced target is launch availability. The thread does not give a separate date for placing an order or provisioning a server, so check the provider's delivery terms once BULKHEAD has named it. [hosting-plan]

What the approval process covers

BULKHEAD says the selected companies passed testing with players that began in April 2026. Its hosting agreements require performance standards to be maintained, and other providers were still being considered. These are the developer's stated standards, not a guarantee that every connection will be trouble-free. [hosting-quality]

The studio also says it declined revenue-sharing offers in favor of better hardware. Hosts currently set their own prices while remaining subject to the quality requirements. There is no developer-set rental price in that statement. [host-prices]

Admin tools and launch customization

An RCON tool was in development to let administrators control their servers live, regardless of hosting platform. The announcement gives no RCON release date, finished tool, commands or installation guide. [rcon]

For day one, BULKHEAD says admins will start with choices about maps and modes. It does not promise the ability to switch off every feature. More control is planned over time, with the game's economy setting limits on what can change. [customization]

If a custom rule is essential to your group, wait for the actual supported options before renting. Choosing a map or mode does not establish that cash rewards, progression or every gameplay setting can be altered.

Finding players or resolving a connection problem

For the audience size, use the player count guide and distinguish the Playtest from the main game. For an empty browser or failed login, use the access troubleshooting page. Hosting policy does not tell you whether a particular server is currently online.
